Well I've been shooting photos now since the bad old days of film. Thank %#$ they are over and now it's all digital. I jumped on board the digital revolution around 11yrs ago with my first digi camera being a sony that loaded the photos onto a floppy disk ! Since then I've kept pace with the evolution of the digital camera and am currently using a Kodak D14 (thats for 14 mega pixel) I have a couple of good (fixed focal) lens starting at 300mm f2.8 up to the big gun of 1000mm f8 hopefully I'll catch you surfing here in Bali / Indonesia
Besides surfing I spend my time chasing big fish and shooting high quality video with my Cannon XL2. Feel free to drop me a line anytime if you want some info covering most aspects of Bali.

I am an avid photographer, I started taking photo's with an old practica back in the 70's when I was living in Tuncurry/Forster, NSW. I grew a love for the beach lifestyle when my cousin's taught me to surf and decided I wanted to capture the lifestyle on film. Since then I've had many camera's but never been able to afford a large telephoto lens so I've just made do with what I have. As you can see I've been able to capture some great moments around the surfing life style. One of these days I might be able to capture some great shots from behind a nice 400 mm or 600 mm Lens.

Like you I love actions sports, particularly surfing, kiteboarding and skiing. I have also given triathlons a crack but the love of a beer brought that to a halt pretty quickly. Whilst relatively new to action sports photography compared to some of the other wotaSHOT.com photographers, I love taking shots of people when they are pumped about what they are doing and don’t know the camera is on them. Surfing, kiteboarding and snowboarding/skiing is such an individual sport, so its great to be able to provide people shots of themselves going off!

Started out taking shots of surfing events locally, gave heaps of photos away to get my foot through the door, a long slow process, I found its about networking, the gear everybody uses these days is so good its highly competitive. I shoot now for SNSW & Surfing Australia. When you are at a WCT event, if everybody is standing at one end of Snapper, go stand somewhere else, give yourself a chance at a unique shot that nobody else has by creating new angles. Get as close to the action as possible even 10 meters in front of the next guy gives you a bigger sharper original image. Gear. Canon 1D Mark IIN, 20D Canon 600mm F4, 400mm 5.6

Surfing has been my life for about 16 years after forming an addiction at an early age - the ultimate rush we all know too well was just too much…I needed more and more and more. I’ve traveled all over Oz and surfed in Bali, Sumbawa, G-land, Nusa Lembogan, France, Spain and Norway. Surf photography is a reflection of my obsession with the ocean and all its tasty fruits and always brings a smile to my face. It has been a passion of mine and an ongoing hobby for about 8 years…I like to take snaps of all things big and small but particularly like to concentrate on wave, maneuver, line-up, beach culture/lifestyle photos that will make you ponder, dream and think twice.
